Multi-Band Dipole and Yagi HF Antennas

Technology

Last updated: 11 February 2026

XOR HF antennas achieves multiband performance, by adjusting any dipole antenna to multiple half wavelengths. Band-Switching Technology switches multiple combinations of dipole element sections to achieve multiple  half wavelengths and thus a multi-band dipole. High quality antenna manufacturing and materials features:

· All switches and electrical components are potted (Switching Modules) and are hermetically sealed to shield all module components from adverse weather conditions, from -40°C to 85°C.

· The UV resistive control cables are hard-wired and potted into  modules, thereby eliminating any element module connectors [Connectors only at XOR’s Junction Box].

· Hardware uses corrosion resistive Grade 316 Stainless Steel for all  RF connections.

· Antenna uses 6061/6063 Aircraft Grade Aluminum and at least Grade 304 Stainless Steel fastener, or the like, for all  other hardware.

· Strong ISO Fiberglass Rods [100,000 PSI] are used for creating a 2 inch isolation gap between element sections. This minimizes  the effects of rain, snow and ice on multiband antenna performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of support does XOR Antenna Systems, LLC offer after purchase?
XOR Antenna Systems, LLC offers dedicated customer support to assist with installation, troubleshooting, and product inquiries. Customers can reach out via email or through the contact page on the website. Support is typically provided by knowledgeable staff who are also licensed radio amateurs. Additionally, documentation and product guides or manuals, are included with every antenna, with updates made available online as needed.

Can XOR antennas support high-power or QRP operation?
Yes, we design our antenna systems to accommodate a wide range of power levels up to at least the legal U.S. limit.  Built with robust materials and switches suited for HF high-power operations, they are capable of handling both low-power (QRP) and higher-power amateur usage. Although the precise power ratings may vary with each model, the rugged design supports dependable performance across common operating conditions.

Do XOR’s antennas require regular maintenance or tuning?
One of the standout features of XOR’s multiband products is their minimal maintenance requirement. Thanks to the absence of mechanical components like traps, rotating gears and motors moving elements in UV dependent fiberglass — XOR antennas remain resonant and reliable over time with virtually no upkeep. This makes them a dependable choice for permanent installations and installations in remote or harsh environment.
